First of all these speakers are 20 watts. 20 Watts you say, my speakers say they are 80 Watts!! I'll start again - these speakers are 20 Watts RMS, that means continuous 10 Watts of AC electrical power to both channels at once. Not 80 Watts PMPO Peak-Music-Power-Output (Peak Measured Possibly Once - more like). On to the most important features of these speakers.
The richness and power of the bass jumps straight out at you with a good top end, You'd think that they were 2 or three way speakers but infact they are a single driver.
You would be suprised about how loud these units can go without distorting, even at high bass output.
There is a built in DSP on these units, when you switch this on it gives you a much wider stereo image (Much the same as 3D stereo enhancement does that comes on some sound cards).
The speakers can be connected into either Line or Speaker Output from your sound card (There is an 'input level' adjustment fitted if your speaker output is too high). In fact there are two inputs allowing you to connect to two sources at once, such as a personal stereo ect (Lead Required).
The Speakers themselves are very attractive and will match most setups.
With a name like Yamaha behind them you expect quality and honesty and that's what you get with this kit.
The kit itself comes with 2 x Speakers, PSU, Speaker to Speaker lead, Speaker to PC lead and instruction manual. Review : Simon Edwards |
